| Personal History | Born in the middle of the 24th century on Minos Tureth, but raised on Romulus, her father was the representative for Minos Tureth, T'Kes was brought up to be the typical Romulan however at age 14 she encountered a strange individual, a man who looked like her, but wasn't Romulan and spoke of the prospect of reuniting the Romulan people with their sibling race the Vulcans. That opened T'Kes's eyes up to new possibilities and she began to study things not usually taught on Romulus, after all it was a big galaxy out there with a lot to offer. T'Kes joined the Romulan military in 2372 just before the Dominion War began, she started the conflict as a newly minted Uhlan on the science station and finished it as a subcommander. She was promoted to Commander in 2375 and served in that capacity until after the Shinzon incident of 2379. With Romulus needing to rebuild and recover T'Kes swapped the command chair of her warbird for a seat in the Romulan Senate, succeeding her father as Minos Tureth's representative, where she did her best to help forge a new Romulus, her views and opinions did make her some enemies within Romulan society most notably the Tal'Shiar. However the chance of a new Romulus was dashed with the discovery that the planet's Sun was a ticking clock, with evacuation an imperative T'Kes became a highly involved individual negotiating with the Federation about how to do it, working with some of the Federation's finest in the process. She escaped the destruction of Romulus aboard the USS Midnight, a Defiant class vessel, and along with the other refugees aboard it resettled on Vulcan. Her career wasn't over though as those responsible for the evacuation of Romulus recommended her to the Federation Council as someone who could speak on the resettlement of Romulans within Federation Space. It was during her time in this capacity that she met her future husband. She continued in this role until the Romulans began to rear their heads and suspicions forced her out of post. She has since gone into semi retired life on Vulcan. |
