Post 174: Teaming up for a cause

Mission: Secrets

Doctor Tom Ryan went looking for Lt Thrace to talk to her about the information he had, and to request to be on the mission to find Chris. He was his Doctor and a Synthulan expert so he could help out. However, locating Lt Thrace was a bit of an issue for him because he had no idea where the docking bay was where the ship was located. However, after about 30 minutes of wandering around the base, he finally located it and boarded the ship. Another 20 minutes later, he finally located Lt Thrace on the ship.

"Lt Thrace?" he said walking up towards her.

Charlotte was down in the shuttlebay of the ship supervising the preparations of the two Kaplan F17's they had aboard, which basically meant making sure they were flight worthy and rigged to do what they needed to do. The whole ship was a hive of activity at this point. Turning when she heard her name she found a man coming towards her "Yes?" she said

"My name is Doctor Tom Ryan. I am, I guess what you would call the Synthulans expert, and Chris Bradley's Friend and doctor. I was hoping to speak to you for a few moments." he said approaching her.

Charlotte glanced around "Sergeant O'Reilly." she said to one of the marines "Finish rigging these and then get them playing piggyback with the Delta Flyers, if you get that far get on the holodeck and simulate that step."

"Boss." O'Reilly said nodding

"Ok then." Charlotte said looking at Tom and walking with him into the corridor "What can I do for you?"

Tom followed Charlotte into the corridor. "A few things. First I wanted to give you this chip. It's got all the information we have learned so far in regards to the Synthulans and their weaknesses. I'm still working on some, but this is the same information I gave Dako.. Admiral Olvera as well. We know that one of the best ways to defeat, or at least slow them down is to interupt their communications systems. They are like a hive. Almost like the borg. But more technologically advanced. Also, EMP devices on a rotating frequency are the best weapons."

Tom cleared his throat. "I also want to go on the rescue mission to locate Admiral Bradley. I'm the Synthulan expert and his medical doctor. I'll be very useful to you, and won't get in the way."

"I presume you mean weapons on a rotating frequency." Charlotte said slowly "I assume this has all the information you have on their ships?"

Tom nodded. "So far. I'm still going through the data that we have. My team has been working non stop these last few days."

"That'll help with the getaway at least." Charlotte said "If you were them where would you take the Admiral? Homeworld? Colony? Starbase?"

"I don't think they have a homeworld per say. I think that they have a stronghold. A massive area where they handle all their affairs, keep their prisoners and so forth. I think any world they conquer becomes their home world. A lot of the data we have gotten has been off of the Synthulan we had captured. It's very very encrypted and taken years to get as much as we have so far." Tom said.

"And if they roam that tips things in our favour at least." Charlotte said "What do they do when we show up? Get aggressive or behave like the Borg and wait?"

"They are agressive. But we need to work on disabling their communications first. While they are scrambling to fix that, we can go undetected and locate Chris... Admiral Bradley. " Tom said.

"Locating the Admiral is the part of this I'm least worried about." Charlotte said "First we need to know where the hell we can find him. Meanwhile you can get yourself on a holodeck and run yourself through the list of marine training programs, you want to come with you better be able to meet the highest standard Starfleet sets for any department."

Tom handed Charlotte another chip. "I already do. Part of my working for intelligence was to be ready at a moments notice to lead a mission that wasn't the safest for many people. In regards to finiding the Admiral, I believe I may be able to help with that as well. It occured to me while talking to Doctor Dale, that if the Synthulans used the nanoprobes to locate Chris, why can't we do the same thing? She has a scan of them in the system, If I can get some helkp I might be able to work on reversing the tracking."

"The question is does doing so tip off the Synthulans?" Charlotte said "Because that's an unacceptable risk if it does."

"I do not believe it will. Using the data we have here already, we should be able to see if there is any residual quantum resonance that might match the last known location of the Synthulan ship. Using that, we might be able ot get a trace signal. The ability the Synthulans have to travel between dimensons should leave a trail of disruptions in subspace. If we use this information, we might be able to use one of the anomaly to locate the Admiral. But I need to recalibrate Starfleet’s sensors to lock onto the nanites’ resonance. If we can amplify the signal, we might be able to pinpoint his location, even if he’s in another dimension.” Tom said

"Modifications to a subspace communications buoy should do it." Charlotte said "Failing that the Arcadia is a Pathfinder class they have probably the most advanced sensor suite in the fleet fitted as standard."

"You know of anyone who can help me out in that regard?" Tom said

"Engineering isn't my thing, but for buoy modifications I'd say talk to Lieutenant Cruz or ensign Galloway probably anyone with engineering background would do as well, if you need to use the Arcadia then it's a case of talk to the Captain." Charlotte said

"Ok. I will go search them out. Once we get that done, I'll reach out again and give everyone an update." Tom said

"Good." Charlotte said

Tom nodded and began to walk away before stopping and turning back to Charlotte. "We will find him and bring him home. I'm not sure what shape he will be in but he will be coming back."

"Oh I know." Charlotte said she'd already made the decision that she was coming back with the Admiral or she wasn't coming back at all. For the moment though she knew a lot of this rode on her sister's ability to make the ships new party piece work so she'd probably have to check in on that next.
