Mission: Secrets
Location: Science Department

On:

T'Shas entered the Science Department on the base and looked around, noticing the looks on the faces of her staff. She had stayed on the ship while the mission took place. She had felt the links that she had with her parents and her mother's side all snap at the same time. She had forced herself to continue with what she was there to do, not knowing what had happened, just that something had.

She walked over to Ensign Galaway and gave her a nod. "How has it been on the Station?" Fara looked up from the microscope she had been using, shaking her head.

"Everyone has been affected in some way," she said. "There's a cloud of sadness and fear all around." She sighed, pushing back in her chair. "I was just looking at some tissue samples from Admiral Bradley, trying to see if we could determine what the Synthulans were doing to him. So far I have had no luck."

T'Shas nodded. "He had been tortured. We can look at the samples, but we might need more information from Dr. Ryan and the Medical Staff. They might have a better understanding of what the Synthulans were doing to the Admiral."

"I agree. I know he's resting now, but I'll see if I can get another sample tomorrow. I might have to create a computer algorithm to see if we can extrapolate the missing information, but I'll need to run this through a resequencing regimen first."

"That is a good idea. If you need help you can pull staff from other projects to help you." She paused for a moment before asking, "Do you have any word from your family?" Fara's expression darkened with worry.

"Not yet. My parents serve on the USS Avalon, and I've reached out a few times but I haven't heard back yet. I can only hope they made it." She trailed off. "What about you? Is your family all right?"

She shook her head. "Being part Vulcan means that we have a mental link with our families. I felt the links to my family snap while I was on the away mission. The Vulcan side of my family is gone, I do not yet know about my Human side of the family."

"Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry," Fara said, showing true emotion. "This is just awful. So much death and destruction... How will we come back from this?"

"We will take it one day at a time and deal with what comes as it does. We can only move forward. " She said with a slight upturn to her mouth. Fara nodded.

"I suppose so," she said. After a moment, she said, "What projects do we have in the queue?"

"Scanning our immediate area for anything that might be useful before we move to our final destination." T'Shas said. Galaway nodded.

"I have a dedicated computer working on that over there," she motioned to a station to the left of the room. "I will continue to work on this," she said gesturing to the microscope, "and hope that I figure something out."

T'Shas nodded. "I will be in my office going over report if you should need me." Fara smiled sadly, and nodded. She turned back to the desk before her, and started working.
