Mission: Obsidian

Celine Quinn was not one to complain, but even she had to admit that there was so much damage to the base. As she walked down the corridor on her way to the Diplomatic Department, she noted the burned spots, the broken fixtures and monitors, and the general debris scattered everywhere...and wondered just what the hell they were doing there? She cautiously stepped over a fallen pylon, and made a mental note to notify cleanup teams about it.

The motion had knocked a piece of hair loose from her bun, and absentmindedly she tucked it back in as she walked. She was thankful to have been assigned to the Obsidian with her husband, and that she had other friends and family nearby. That was a bright spot in an otherwise dismal outlook. After having been a Medical Officer for so long, it was strange to be focused in another direction, but it was something she was looking forward too. She wasn't sure how much help she could be in their current predicament, but whatever Captain Pontmercy needed, she would be there to offer it.

As she entered the Diplomatic Department, she was once again reminded that as of that moment, she was the only one assigned to the Obsidian Station, and would send a message to the Captain asking for at least four more people. It wasn't a vital department, but it still would be good to have a few people to cover shifts. She glanced right and left, making a mental inventory of all that had to be done. It would take several days to make this area workable, but she might as well start now. She knew that her husband would be busy for hours, but she left him a message to call her when he was off. Until then, she rolled up her sleeves, and started getting to work.
