If there was one thing, one factor, aside from Ocampa that hung over present matters it was the unknown of Trill. Why was this of greater concern than any of the other Federation worlds that had been lost? In the case of Trill it was the continued existence of two species on the line. It had been put on the list before the trip away from the Alpha Quadrant, and now that the base relocation was complete and things were in motion it was an opportune time to start things moving in relation to Alpha Quadrant intelligence gathering, the Empok Nor Project was the key part of that equation, however the situation on Trill required something that was a little more hands on than that. This was why V'Lar had called two of her most reliable operatives - Freya and Timor to a shuttle bay, the Intelligence Departments shuttle the Spectre was sat there, a Delta Flyer type craft with a lot of bells and whistles that made it one of the stealthiest and smartest ships around, which considering it was only a small craft was pretty darn good.

"So we're going to Trill?" Freya asked
"Yes." V'Lar said "The timescale for Empok Nor is even at best going to put us in the ballpark where Trill will have fallen and likely been occupied long enough for our worst fears to be realised, but we can't mount an operation to do anything without intelligence as to what's going on on the ground, who we're up against, is there a threat etc. That's where you two come in, take the Spectre and make use of the HMT and the Romulan cloak she's got, slipstream your way back to the Alpha Quadrant, make your way to Trill, get down on the surface and find out what the hell's going on there."
"I know a few places we can put down." Timor said "We'll need to be careful who we contact."
"Regular check ins at least once every twenty four hours." V'Lar said
"Understood." Freya said
"And no heroics." V'Lar said "You're there to find out what's going on you're not there to pull a rescue."
"Also understood." Freya said
"Go." V'Lar said
