Marty’s job had been simple enough, prepare medical and personnel for any situation that they might find themselves in once they got down on the planet.

Simple right? She thought with a giggle. The problem was, nothing was as simple as that unfortunately when you didn’t even know what you were going to find down there. Why captain’s thought their doctors could perform miracles was beyond her comprehension. Afterall, they were just as infallible as anyone else. They could play god all they wanted but they’d never achieve miracles and to expect the medical staff to be ready for anything was just asking to be god himself!

With a sigh, she wiped the sweat from her brow as she finished packing another pod for transport to the surface, she’d replicated so many medical supplies that she swore the replicator groaned when she asked for more surgical gowns.

“What are you complaining about,” she said talking to the inanimate object. “At least your job is almost done, mine is just starting,” she said checking the time as she grabbed her medikit and headed for the shuttle bay.
