Mission:
A New Beginning
Location: Promenade
Timeline: current
Hannah was making her way from the Bajoran temple around the upper level of the promenade towards the turbolift that was a direct trip to ops. She was still mentally processing everything about project genesis and starting to do the maths in regards to the scientific formula to make it work. But there was also the other part of the equation - who had put them on this path? That loomed large over this because motive mattered in such things, a nefarious purpose had implications, a gentle nudge had other implications. She'd made a habit out of pushing the limits in her career, taking the risk but never doing so without knowing the whole board - she'd known the consequences when she'd violated the Omega Directive, she'd knew the consequences she'd have faced over the Spore Drive were it not for the Synthulan attack, but here she had no idea what the board looked like. She could guesstimate that there were very significant implications behind the misuse of Genesis but beyond that nothing that implied any ill intent - and even then who on the base would have knowledge of it and take the chance of playing cloak and dagger to put them on the scent? It wasn't likely to be the Admirals, they were the most by the book people on the base if they were going to do this they'd have declassified the information because plausible deniability no longer mattered, there was no higher authority in Starfleet for them to answer to at this point.
It was then Hannah saw it, out of the corner of her eye that faint streak of purple, she stopped and moved over to the railing to look down towards the various stalls on the lower level, her eyes widened for a moment and then relaxed before her mouth stretched into a grin as she met the eyes of an alien that she and a few others on the crew had run into a few years earlier, "You could have just told me." Hannah muttered, but as always there would have been no fun in simply spoon feeding the information would there? She watched as the alien doffed the baseball cap he was wearing in her direction before tapping something on his wrist and vanishing. Well that answered the question at least - no ill intent just this crew's friendly, neighbourhood, guardian angel alien.
