Mission:
A Leap of Faith
Location: Arcadia
Timeline: current
Sergeant Major Okan was the type that did jobs himself, to some extent that went with his Jem'Hadar genetic programming, he was unquestionably physically the strongest marine and likely strongest individual on the base. He was built for combat and that made him valuable to Charlotte, they made a very effective pair and had done throughout their careers so far, she had the smarts, the creativity and the leadership qualities and he had the fine tuned sense of understanding the heat of battle. He'd never let Charlotte admit it but he knew that her philosophy of what was and was not an acceptable risk was largely founded on her knowing just what he was capable of if all hell broke loose.
Okan was presently stowing a large amount of caving equipment in one of the Arcadia's cargo bay's. He'd been given the rundown of the mission they were getting into from Charlotte and had selected a small team of marines that leaned more towards crisis response than combat for the job, he was coming along to provide the combat edge if it became necessary, he also knew if he didn't put himself on the team that Charlotte would order it. He also knew he'd have to keep an eye on all the others - he took it personally if someone under his protection was injured and given the stakes involved he really wasn't in the mood to see such things happen this time around. Having checked the caving equipment he checked the marine equipment, inspecting each of the field uniforms, weapons including his shiny new crystalline battle axe and then a fair amount of new kit that they were keen to give a field test to.
Okan sighed as he closed the last case in his inspection. They had everything they could conceivably need, an amazing statement in of itself because the mission they were about to embark on could literally be anything, this was why he didn't like unknown variables. And this mission was full of unknown variables, how had the Kazon changed? What was the nature of the issue at the outpost? Would the Kazon trust them enough to take a leap of faith?
