Sorry all for my absence. Real life is a real kick in the teeth sometimes.

On:

In the darkness, Alexander sat up suddenly. He could hear the deep breathing of his fellow prisoners, indicating that they were still asleep, yet something had woken him in the prison cells. There it was again, the faint sounds of laughter and conversations from what seemed like a few rooms over. The muffled words were lost amidst the thick walls, but he strained to hear what they were saying, to no avail. Their captors had been absent for the majority of the day after their initial arrest, He had no idea what was happening to the rest of the crew, but he could only hope that they had made it back to the Arcadia.

He thought over the events of the past few days, and how foolish he had been. He had been so eager to admit another planet into the Federation after they had lost so much, and yet it had been too good to be true. Now the lives of the two with him were in jeopardy, and he had no idea how in the hell he was going to get them out of it.

The sounds of a door being burst open, and then running feet reached his ears.... and then shouting. He couldn't tell if it was in panic or excitement, but something was happening. He thought he heard the word Romulan, but he couldn't determine if that was his mind playing tricks...but he certainly hoped that it was. If the Romulans were there... it was going to be even harder to get out of this alive.
