Mission:
Obsidian
Location: Chief Engineer's Office, Obsidian Station
On;
Chambers walked to the office, coffee and PADD in hand. It was time for assignments to be given.
Lieutenant Junior Grade David Chambers, a seasoned Starfleet Chief Engineer, stood at the head of the engineering briefing room aboard Obsidian Station, a Class-E facility. His sharp eyes scanned the gathered engineers, each eager to take on their assignments. With a firm yet encouraging tone, he began to outline the tasks for the six teams under his command.
"Alright, everyone, listen up. We've got critical work to tackle across the station, and I need each of you to give it your best. Team Alpha, you'll be focusing on the primary power grid. Ensigns Rodriguez, Kwan, and Patel, I need you to run diagnostics and recalibrate the energy distribution nodes. We’ve been experiencing fluctuations that need to be stabilized ASAP.
Team Bravo, Ensigns Lathrop, Vasquez, and Kim, you're assigned to the life support systems. We had a minor malfunction in the oxygen recyclers last week; I want a full inspection and overhaul of the entire system. Ensure all environmental controls are operating within optimal parameters.
Team Charlie, Ensigns Singh, Morgan, and Blake, your task is the station’s defensive systems. With recent pirate activity in the sector, we can’t afford any lapses. Run a full systems check on the phaser arrays and the shield emitters. Make sure everything is up to Starfleet specs.
Team Delta, Ensigns Peters, Jassim, and Hwang, you're handling the communication array. We’ve had reports of intermittent signal loss. Conduct a full sweep and diagnostics of all subspace transceivers and communication relays.
Team Echo, Ensigns Tanaka, Grey, and Alvarez, you'll be working on the station’s propulsion systems. Even though we're stationary, our thrusters and impulse engines must remain operational for maneuvering and emergency situations. Perform a comprehensive systems check and maintenance.
Finally, Team Foxtrot, Ensigns O'Brien, Sato, and Gupta, you're on structural integrity. We've detected some micro-fractures in the outer hull. Utilize the repair drones to conduct exterior inspections and repairs. Ensure that the integrity fields are fully functional to prevent any further degradation.
Remember, teamwork is crucial. Keep communication lines open and report any issues immediately. Dismissed."
With a nod of satisfaction, Lt. Chambers watched as the teams dispersed, confident in their abilities and ready to maintain the operational integrity of Obsidian Station. He then gathered his trusty headphones and tools and joined them in their work.
