Mission: Secrets

Marius stood in his ready room, gazing out the window at the emptiness of space, mulling over the events of the past few days. He held a glass of amber liquid in his right hand, but it hadn't been touched in a few minutes as evidenced by the slowly melting ice it contained. Every time he thought about the explosion on Qo'noS his chest tightened... every member of The High Council dead, one of their only allies in this fight had evaporated as quickly as water over a flame.

He grit his teeth, running scenarios and options over and over, and coming up empty. He finally raised the glass in his hand to his lips, and shot back the remainder in one quick gulp. He slammed the now empty glass down hard onto his desk in frustration, and picked up a data padd to continue reading.

Marius rubbed his eyes in frustration, the list continued to lose members, and it seemed as if there was no way to stem the flow. He was thankful that they seemed to, for the most part, stay neutral...but who knew if that would change?
