Mission: Obsidian

The following is a personal log from CAPT Marius Pontmercy.

::BEGIN PERSONAL LOG::

Where do I even begin? I suppose from my arrival at Obsidian Station, but it has been so long since I have recorded one of these I have almost forget how. When I got the call that my orders have changed and that I am now the Commanding Officer of Obsidian Station, I did not know what to expect except that I would once again be in charge of a Station. You would think that Starfleet would want to assign someone else as CO after how much turmoil has happened on bases with me as Captain. But maybe my luck has turned.

*Sighs*

On a positive note, Starfleet has assigned several crewmembers on this base that I have served with before. I am most excited to see Commander Haines, and Lieutenant Commander McMahon again, and of course Stokes, Chambers, Couldis, and Quinn. We have gone through quite a bit together, and it has made us stronger.

Our assignment here is a bit of a mystery. I am not certain why the Arcadia was docked at this starbase, especially as it is quite damaged and will take months to repair. But maybe, as it is a few days from the front lines, we will be safe until we can get it up and running. I have assigned team members to determine the facts. Hopefully they will come up with some answers soon.

So much loss, so much destruction. It is hard to fathom why the Cardassians and Romulans are doing this, except for the fact that they want the Federation gone so that they have freedom to conquer this quadrant. We will do our best to stop them, or at the very least be an obnoxious thorn in their side.
