Mission:
Obsidian
Location: Holodeck
V'Lar was very likely the most common user of the holodeck among the senior staff, very likely because her work required it more than most. Chambers had his workshop, Helmsley had her sickbay, others had shooting ranges and she had the holodeck. Stepping inside she pressed some buttons on the wall panel and activated the program, it brought up the holographic recreation of the interior of Obsidian Station as viewed from somehow still functional security cameras. "Computer upload and play model one." she said, the computer created two figures one clearly and obviously a Cardassian, judging by the rank insignia a Gul no less not that that was particularly surprising, what was surprising was the other figure - someone wearing a Starfleet uniform, looked like a Vulcan. "Computer identify Starfleet officer."
"Starfleet Officer identified as Lieutenant Commander T'Kia." the computer said
"And where is Mr T'Kia assigned?" V'Lar asked
"Lieutenant Commander T'Kia is assigned as Starfleet Intelligence Liaison to Qon'os." the computer said, V'Lar was happy that she didn't have a drink in her mouth at that point because she'd have just spat it out.
"What?" V'Lar said watching the model play through the meeting and seeing T'Kia hand over a PADD to the Gul "Computer is there any identification on the Cardassian?"
"No identity records available." the computer said
"And I'm guessing the camera quality is not good enough to capture any text on the PADD." V'Lar said
"Correct." the computer said
"Play model two." V'Lar said
Model two was much the same as model one except it appeared to be a reverse, it puzzled V'Lar that this T'Kia was even there unless he wasn't who he appeared to be, V'Lar was able to use her Romulan DNA to infiltrate Romulan ships, bases and colonies so it was logical that the Tal'Shiar would be able to use the biological similarities between Vulcans and Romulans to infiltrate Starfleet. Model three was where it got interesting as joining the two people she'd already seen was a Romulan male, presumably Tal'Shiar. V'Lar got the impression that she was watching some sort of operational pitch. Then came model four, this time it was the three figures and one more - a Bolian male.
"Well isn't this an unusual group?" V'Lar said "Computer identify the Bolian."
"Professor Lams Qoff, currently resident at the University of Betazed." the computer said
"What does he teach?" V'Lar asked
"Klingon history and politics." the computer said
"Play model four." V'Lar said, as the model played V'Lar watched carefully but it was something in the conversation that caught her attention, it was a lot of haggling over something which she wasn't sure of the identity of until something was uttered in Romulan. "Why do you need a DNA sample?" she said looking at the model, "Computer play model five."
Model five was the Bolian, the Gul and a Ferengei. V'Lar watched as the Bolian professor handed a small box bearing a Klingon crest to the Gul in exchange the Gul handed a box of what V'Lar presumed to be latinum to the Bolian. "Pitch, barter, exchange... what is this?" V'Lar asked slowly "Computer how long ago did model five occur?"
"Three weeks ago." the computer stated
"Guess we're going on a treasure hunt." V'Lar said "Computer compile a list of Federation archaeologists with Klingon history expertise. Route list to my office."
"Working." the computer said
V'Lar sighed as she ran a hand through her hair, just what rabbit hole were they getting pulled down now?
