Maddy was having one of those quiet days, there wasn't much going on in sickbay, just the regular scheduled treatments and procedures such things were to be expected with the journey to the Delta Quadrant, a period of calm, but just like everyone else aboard she knew that when they hit the ground it was going to be all or nothing. Maddy's main job for the day though was settling in their new head nurse, one Persephone Lynx, judging by the service record and notes she was more than capable perhaps even over qualified for the job but they weren't in any position to raise eyebrows at that sort of thing right now. Stepping into the triage area of what was perhaps best described as the ED or the AAU or whatever term people wished to use she found the new staff member sat wearing the dark blue scrubs waiting for her.

"Persephone Lynx?" Maddy asked looking at the redhead
"Yeah." Persephone said looking up
"Maddy Dale." Maddy said "Come on I'll show you around."
"Ok." Persephone said smiling slightly.

"So this is triage, and from there we go straight into the ED that's mainly my domain and where you'll be working your shifts most of the time, we've got everything we could need from treatment bays, an ICU, a couple of operating theatres..." Maddy said "We triage and treat. Generally they then go a ward which are accessed through the turbolifts. This isn't a standard sickbay that you find on a starship, this is a full blown hospital, we've got an ED, general wards, surgical area, research and so on. You'll be the head nurse for all of that, anyone causes you a problem come see me or Doctor Stokes and we'll sort it out."
"Ok anything else I need to know?" Persephone asked
"Yes it's medical professional first, Starfleet officer second." Maddy said "It doesn't matter what comes through those doors."
"Good." Persephone said "How did you come up with that brain transplant?"

"I refuse to believe that anything's impossible." Maddy said with a giggle "But the beauty of medicine is that it's always evolving, we can do things now that were never conceived of a few years ago and I'm happy that Doctor Stokes lets me keep pushing that boundary in my own time."
"Is that where the nickname 'Miracle' Maddy Dale comes from?" Persephone asked "You can't be in this hospital for more than five minutes without hearing it."
"Pretty much." Maddy said "Get settled in and get to work."
