Mission: Obsidian

On:

Marius saw his Operations Chief and Second Officer running towards him and Jordan as the pair were heading to meet with him for coffee onboard the USS Arcadia.

"You both need to see this," Mike said, and Marius glanced at Jordan.

"What's going on," the Captain asked?

Jordan had been going in two directions all day. "Show us!" he said a little impatiently as he poured himself some coffee. He needed some caffeine badly.

"This.. code. Everything listed here about the history was programmed in. And the person who programmed it, they left a trace of themselves in here. I don't know what really happened - but what people see in the history it isn't what really happened." Mike said. "Or at least someone made it look like it happened. And I can tell by the code who did it. But I'm not sure why." Marius took a sip of coffee with his left hand as he held out his right hand for the data padd that Mike was holding. He looked it over, puzzled.

"So someone tried to cover the evidence of what this base was actually being used for?"

"It appears so. And the destruction to the base - the cause also appears to have been altered. And there are some fake videos that were added as well." Mike said.

“This doesn’t surprise me.” Jordan spoke up. “Unless you have gone deep in the Federation trenches you don’t what we are capable of. Whatever reason they did it for was a damn good one and so am not certain it will do us any good at this time to search for it. We need this station secured.” Marius frowned. Why had this information been kept secret, and why had someone gone to such great lengths to hide it? He took a moment, drinking another sip of coffee, thankful for the warm beverage to help him think things through.

"Whatever the reason, the base is still in bad shape," he said finally. "I am halting the general investigation into the original mission of the base, for now. I would like you to assign the Intelligence and Security teams to finding out whatever they can about the latest war news." He looked at the Lieutenant Commander.

"Mike, I would like you to keep digging, when you have time. You found this information, so I would like to keep you on it."

"Yes sir. I'll keep digging and trying to reverse the code." Mike said.

"Please do, I want to know whatever it is that you find out."

Before they went their seperate ways, Mike spoke again. "One more thing. The person who did all the changing with the codes and altering... I can see his work a mile away.. It's My Uncle - Admiral Chris Bradley." Marius blinked.... that was surprising.

"I see. Maybe it may be good to give him a call.... quietly."
