Mission: Obsidian

Although he had been working for several hours, it was still rather early in the morning when Marius stood and stretched. He knew that it would be months of long hours and hard work before he felt comfortable with taking it a little easier. This war had him on edge, and he knew it was the same for the rest of the crew. He glanced down at the time, and seeing that it was within working hours for Senior staff, tapped his comm badge.

"Captain Pontmercy to Lieutenant Cruz. Please report to my ready room."

T'Shas had been in her quarters as she has been relieved of duty until Lieutenant Stokes cleared her for duty. She had her long hair in a braided bun, and had a dark blue civilian dress on, with her commbadge located where it was supposed to be. She stood and left her quarters, heading to the Captain's ready room. She chimed the door.

"Come in," came the call from within the room.

T'Shas entered the ready room and stood in front of his desk. She clasps her hands behind her back in a parade rest position. "Lieutenant T'Shas Cruz reporting as ordered sir." Marius stood as she entered.

"Welcome, at ease, Lieutenant." He motioned to the chair in front of his desk as he spoke next. "Please, have a seat."

T'Shas took a seat in the chair that was offered, with her hands in her lap. "You wanted to see me sir?"

"I did," Marius said, not unkindly. "I know that you have been taken off active duty for the time being, but I wanted to get your opinion about how the Science Department was shaping up?"

"Ensign Couldis and I have been working to clean up the Department. There are supplies that are needed and equipment that needed to be repaired or replaced. I understand that Science will not be as a high priority as getting the defenses up." T'Shas said in a matter of fact way. Marius sighed.

"While that is true, I still feel it is important to get each department functioning. You cannot do your jobs without supplies. Have you been working on a list?"

"Yes sir. We started compiling a list as we were going through the Department. Once it is complete we will forward it." She stated as she nodded.

"Good," Marius said. "We will be needing your department up and running quickly, especially with this war happening around us." He grew serious. "Now let's talk about you. How long are you going to be off duty?"

T'Shas sighs quietly. "I was put on 4 hour duties by the CMO, due to malnutrition. I was then taken off of duty completely by Commander Haines until I am cleared by Lieutenant Stokes." Marius nodded.

"I am sure that that was frustrating, Lieutenant, but wise. You went through a lot," he said, grabbing a padd off of the desk before them. "It says here that you were held in captivity for... several months?"

T'Shas shook her head slightly. "Not months sir, years. It has been three years since Starbase 24 was destroyed and I was captured. I do not know why they kept me alive for so long as I knew nothing of importance."

"At least you think you don't, " Marius said. "We know there are techniques out there to alter memories."

"That could be possible." T'Shas said. Marius thought for a moment.

"I wouldn't normally interfere, but because whatever happened to you could potentially effect some things around us, I want you to report to Lieutenant Hemsley and see what she can do to test that."

"I will do that. At the moment though there is already a chemical imbalance that is already affecting me. I do not know if the would interfere with that test." She said, her hands twitching slightly in her lap before she could stop it.

"I was informed," Marius said. "I still would let the doctor make the decision."

"Yes sir." T'Shas nodded.

"Very good," Marius said with a nod, "Get some rest, and report to Hemsley. Dismissed, Lieutenant." T'Shas nodded as she stood and left the ready room, heading back to the sickbay.
