Mission: Obsidian
Location: Arbazan

If ever there was a piece of Federation technology that was taken for the granted it was a toss up between the computer, the replicator and the transporter. If you were in Starfleet it was probably however the transporter that won that particular contest. It was just the ease with which you could get into and out of somewhere. Considering how the technology had originally been viewed with scepticism it was quite something that it was now such a significant part of everyday life within Starfleet and the Federation as a whole. As a marine Charlotte was quite versed in the tactical advantage the transporter afforded and was quite comfortable using it.

However if anything was going to change that opinion it was this - materialising six feet in the air above the hull of the Calvary and then crashing back down onto the Sutherland classes saucer section, the Bajoran equivalent of an expletive shattered the calm as she inventoried herself for injuries, nothing was broken though she was fairly certain she'd have a lot of bruises in the morning. Gingerly getting up she looked around, she couldn't see anyone else, tapping her combadge she found that she had no signal, it could have been as a result of the impact but if the transporters had malfunctioned to the extent where the away team had been scattered then it was also possible that the same reason for that could account for communication trouble... or this was indeed a trap and they'd walked, beamed or in her case fallen right into it.

"Ok then." Charlotte said, her hand drifting close to her holstered phaser pistol, while standard issue was the type two phaser the marines still favoured a heavier, slightly more punchy and pulse firing pistol that was closer to the 22nd century type in aesthetics. "Better find the airlock before I catch cold out here."
