Mission: Obsidian

Maddy Dale was no stranger to a starbase or a sickbay, but while she was a good doctor she wasn't the stereotypical one. She was, and always had been, the imaginative one, the workaholic, she simply refused to give up. She was better known for finding solutions to problems in the medical field, but the funny thing about problems was that the solution could occasionally be found by looking at the basics. And nowhere was this statement more true than in what was probably called the hydroponic bay but given the sheer size of it should probably be referred to as the 'Greenhouse section' good old medicinal plants and herbs from across the galaxy were being planted and grown here, plants from Vulcan, Andorria, Earth, Betazed, Bajor and Qon'os to name but a few and then there was the little corner of plants from Romulus or at least those descended from plants on Romulus. A very beautiful tree stood in that corner, it was a little strange to think that such plants formed one of the last memories of the former Romulan homeworld. But everything had one medicinal value or other. In centuries gone by the contents of the greenhouse would have been the go to pharmacy, to some extent they still were but in the 25th century the first options were other things. She smiled as she glanced at the PADD she had in her hand, they weren't producing yet but all things would come in the fullness of time.

"And when we add the menagerie into the mix it'll be even better." Maddy said with a hint of a smile before walking over to the one part of the Greenhouse not dedicated to plants, there was what looked like a fountain but instead of water it was Jem'Hadar clone feed that flowed down into storage tanks. "And that's good." she sighed "Computer engage weather program."

"Weather program engaged," the computer replied, Maddy giggled as she caught the edge of one of the water sprinklers and got slightly damp. This was a good day.
