Mission:
Secrets
Location: Obsidian Station
Timeline: current
The 'Greenhouse' so to speak was nothing more than a repurposed cargo space aboard the base, a few doors down from the medical variation and the self sustaining food production. It was here that Hannah had started growing the fungi they'd need to fuel the Angel's engine and to give them the chance to get to the Admiral, it hadn't been that long , only a matter of a few days but they had a fair few shoots coming up out of the soil. It was excellent progress under the circumstances and as far as the modifications to the Angel went they were also coming along nicely, Hannah was fairly certain they were almost at the point of pulling everything into a sharp focus. But Hannah also knew that without the critical component of the equation this whole operation would fall apart before they even got out of the gate. Crouched down she was finishing planting one of the new seedlings and then she heard it, the low growl.
Turning Hannah slowly set her eyes on the blue-grey and maybe a little purple lifeform that was suddenly there in the room with her, it was on four legs and appeared to be sniffing and growling more at the plants than at her. "Ok." Hannah said quietly "If the records are right you're a herbivore by nature." she reached into a bag that was on the floor, took out an onion and rolled it along the floor towards the creature "Let's see." the creature looked from Hannah to the onion and back before devouring the onion and then looking back at Hannah.
"Ok then." Hannah said "You're a likely sentient species so let's see about this." she held another onion out for the creature, who cautiously approached and ate it out of her hand, Hannah smiled and carefully moved her hand to stroke the creature much like one would a pet "Hi, I'm Hannah... I have no idea if you can understand me..." she didn't get to finish the sentence as the creature used it's size and weight to knock her to the deck plating and began to lick her, again much like a pet would, the only sound in the room was Hannah's giggles and laughter. "And what's your name?" she got a puzzled look "Ok we'll work on that..." she wasn't quite sure why she thought it'd be simple to communicate with an inter dimensional being, but any progress was good progress at this point, maybe getting one of the telepaths down there would help things along. "Well nice to meet you... properly this time." she was still on the floor.
